The hills of the Amity site and the client's favorite artist were the inspiration for this custom home. The work of painter Franz Marc provides the idea of the subject echoing the shapes and rhythms of the landscape.

Here, buildings as the subject, take the place of the horses and are explored for their relationship within the terrain.  The structure of a leaping horse was studied and reflected into the building's shape, giving it movement within the sloped site.
